Jack and I learned from Melissa that our department meeting time (Wednesdays, 11-1) is in conflict with the PhD colloquium (Wednesdays, 12:00-1:30).
That schedule is set to fit into established course times (i.e., other Wednesday afternoon courses run from 2-5 pm) as well as to accommodate faculty who wish to attend colloquia (COMM and LIS department meetings are held at 10 am).
I’d like to explore whether it’s possible to shift the JMS meeting time one hour earlier, so that JMS meetings run from 10 am-12 noon. This would also put our meeting time in line with the COMM and LIS departments and maybe give more people an opportunity to go to colloquium.
Let me know whether or not you are comfortable with this shift ASAP, as we are in the midst of fall planning/scheduling and our departmental meeting time might impact a few things. Feedback needed no later than Friday at noon, please.
