I appreciate everyone's input on when/where to have our JMS social gathering. The votes are in, and it looks like people's preference for date/time is Saturday, October 28th for lunch in Philly. I'm happy to host and to introduce you to my husband John and Frankie, our doodle. Feel free to bring anyone you'd like. I'll be inviting the Media Studies doctoral students, too. Dear colleagues, Just following up ... looking for a JMS representative to the NB Faculty Council. Juan had done this for years, and we need to replace him. Hi colleagues, We’d be grateful for your input into this ad for the new NTT position, drafted by the search committee (John, Mary, Neal and David L.), with input from Susan, Amy and Karen (Susan, while still committee co-chair, actually wrote the initial draft). After weighing our discussions over the past year, we came down on the side of seeking a visual/audio/immersive media specialist, rather than necessarily a well-known media figure or investigative journalist. We made that call on enrollment grounds, realizing that courses in digital media production, audio documentary and related tech areas are already oversubscribed, and that future student demand for courses in these areas is likely to be very high. Could you send us any feedback on this draft/suggestions for changes by next Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 5 p.m.? Much appreciation!
