Dear Colleagues,
The speaker at next week's seminar will be Stephen Lerner, Executive Vice
President of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) head of its
Property Services Division and a visionary in the contemporary labor
movement. Stephen is the architect of the Justice for Janitors campaign
which has succeeded in organizing tens of thousands of low wage janitors
across the country, and was the main strategist whose ideas formed the
basis for the creation of Change to Win, the new labor federation which
includes, SEIU, the Teamsters, the United Food and Commercial Workers,
UNITE-HERE, the Laborers and the United Farm Workers. Stephen will be
coming to discuss strategies for building global unionism.
The seminar will take place from 11:30-1:30 in room 166 at the Labor
Education Center.
I hope you will be able to join us.
