The Latino Leadership Development Seminar is a one-day program sponsored
by the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) and the New
Jersey State AFL-CIO.
Program
Union Latinos will:
. Learn the structure of the American Labor movement and their own
union;
. Learn about union tools, such as collective bargaining and
political activities, and how to use them to address issues of
concern to Latinos;
. Develop the skills needed to increase their participation in
their unions and to organize unorganized Latinos;
. Get to meet and know their fellow union members.

. Community Service
What is LCLAA
The Labor Council for Latin American Advancement is a national
organization representing the interests of approximately 1.7 million
Latino/ a trade unionist throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
Founded in 1973, LCLAA builds coalitions between Unions and the Latino
community in order to promote an inclusive working family agenda. LCLAA
promotes civic participation and works with national organizations to
advance the civil, social, economic, political and human rights of all
Latinos. We all have the responsibility to get involved in the struggle
to defend our civil, social, economic, and political rights. LCLAA is
not just for union members, but for all people who envision a better
quality of life, a just workplace, and who demand respect and dignity
for all working people.
