In a ruling released yesterday, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said the couple, Varsha Mahender Sabhnani, 35, and Mahender Murlidhar Sabhnani, 51, of Muttontown, should be released based on the government's conclusion that conditions can be imposed to ensure that the couple did not flee. Still, this failed voyage had a remarkable effect on American culture.
