They find that many companies are capitalizing on remote work by using it as a substitute for giving workers raises, so much so that it's helping to moderate inflation.

*Summary:* The membership of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to authorize a strike if progress on a new labor contract isn’t made by the end of the week. At issue are wages and benefits. The unions have been working without a contract since June 2019 and blame rail carriers for dragging out negotiations while earning what they say are record profits during the COVID-19 pandemic.
