Comments on documentaries: Food, Inc. & Fresh?

SNE and F&NSPEC listserv members: **Apologies for any duplicate messages** I am hoping some of you may be able to point me toward information I think must be out there...but that I haven't been able to find! I've seen both "Food Inc." and "Fresh" - two recently released documentaries about the contemporary U.S. food system, with emphasis on serious problems created by factory farms and other practices common within large-scale agricultural operations. These are powerful and thought-provoking films, and they put forth - visually and orally - some critical issues (health, ethical, environmental to name just a few) for all to consider. That said, I am also interested in viewers who may question some of the perspectives/facts shared in either or both of these films. As I said above, I know the films raise critical issues, but I sense that some of the films' generalities might be overstated. (Admittedly, I may be wrong in this, but I'd like a broader foundation for evaluation than just my own inadequate knowledge base!) Spanish nutrition comic books or other Migrant education tools

Greetings To All - I've been working with some agencies who serve the Mexican migrant population in Olathe Colorado. There is a strong interest in improving eating behaviors, and lots of discussion among agencies, farmers, and migrant workers about changing poor eating habits. My questions are: 1) Does anyone know of any nutrition comic books that create healthy-eating superheroes? (This was a special request and I think a pretty good idea!) 2) Where can I go to find "best practices" for behavior change in migrant workers and their families? 3) I'm familiar with the Telenovelas. Thanks so much, Julie, these links say "videos have been removed" - is there another link I should be using? David, yes, would love to peak at what you've done. I'm here in New Mexico, and meeting up with some wonderful people who I think would be great on video to share their home-grown wisdom of how to prepare healthy food for less. I think this would be great for SNAP Ed programs, and could be used for so many venues including You-Tube, Food Banks, schools, markets, etc. Would love to work on such a project.
