National Program Coordinator, Nutrition Education (Cooking Matters)
No child should grow up hungry in America. Since 1984, Share Our Strength®
has led the fight against hunger and poverty by inspiring and organizing
individuals and businesses to share their strengths. Share Our Strength, a
national nonprofit, is ending childhood hunger in America by ensuring all
children get the healthy food they need. By connecting kids in need with
nutritious food and teaching their families how to cook healthy, affordable
meals, the No Kid Hungry Campaign surrounds children in this nation with
healthy food where they live, learn and play.
The Coordinator will work in coordination with the Manager for Program
Operations and Analytics and other members of the team to support training,
technical assistance, communication and reporting systems used by our
Cooking Matters partners and the education team. The coordinator will also
support the maintenance of our Cooking Matters AmeriCorps program and
national nutrition education team.
Partner Support and Resource Management
- Provide technical assistance and responses to program inquiries from
current and prospective partners and stakeholders
- Maintain and update our training, fulfillment and resource platforms
to reflect changes in users, updates to trainings and resource materials
- Manage the procurement of program materials for education partners.
- Coordinate communications to partner network, including announcements,
requests for information, and new funding or program opportunities
- Manage Cooking Matters partner technical assistance and support
channels leading the development and coordination of communications to
- Support full-team projects including development and production of
internal and external communications related to nutrition education work
and partner network activities such as, internal briefings, monthly
corporate updates, national reporting to funders, external communications
or messaging documents.
Reporting & Compliance
- Support accurate and timely submission of data/metrics and information
from our network of partners
- Support compliance protocols set forth by the Corporation for National
and Community Service for managing the Cooking Matters AmeriCorps National
Direct program – enrolling/exiting members, paperwork, updating processes
- Process check requests and work closely with the Finance and
Development teams to assure proper coding and filing.
- Provide administrative support for the team. This may include
scheduling meetings and calls, expense reporting, arranging travel, and
coordinating the execution of contracts and payment of invoices.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, community development,
public service or a related discipline preferred and one or more years of
related experience required.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
- Ability to work at a fast pace with a high level of accuracy and
attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple activities, events and projects
- Short and long-range planning and follow-through skills required.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and tailor strategies to meet
their needs most effectively.
- Proficient computer skills, including the operation of Microsoft Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Available for occasional travel and work on nights and weekends
- A strong desire to contribute to Share Our Strength’s mission
